Cheatham<\/em><\/span><\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p>We would like to congratulate one of our graduate students on successfully defending her dissertation in Chapel Hill on Friday, March 11th. <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Congratulations Dr. Kelly Sheppard!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>After this summer, Kelly will make her way north to Columbus, Ohio, where she will be a Post-Doctoral Fellow\u00a0at the Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital and an Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She will be working with Dr. Sarah Keim,\u00a0an epidemiologist who studies nutrition and cognitive development with a focus on infants born premature. Kelly will\u00a0be involved in Dr. Keim's\u00a0longitudinal work with infants born premature (some now 5 to 6 years old and some are toddlers), as well as work with some people in the lab's omega-3 fatty acid working group who are engaged in a variety of projects related to the role of omega-3 fatty acids and health.\u00a0Kelly\u00a0would also like to follow-up on her dissertation, working with the maze and continuing to look at the role of omega-3 fatty acids and health<\/p>\n<p>We wish Kelly the best of luck and we know she has an amazing career ahead of her.
