Intern Spotlight
Dana Cobb
Dana Cobb is earning a B.S. and B.A. in Psychology with a concentration in Natural Sciences from Appalachian State University. Dana has received high honors throughout her academic career; most notably she was the recipient of the 2013 Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM for Vocationally Qualified Students, a fellowship which allowed her to work in a neuroscience research facility in Germany. Dana serves as the Editor-in-Chief of IMPULSE: The Premier Undergraduate Neuroscience Journal, an international, fully undergraduate endeavor.
A leader in her undergraduate research lab, Dana has presented first authored research at conferences around the country on the effects environmental enrichment can have on young adult and adolescent rat behavior and cognition. She is extending the scope of her interests to include the effects of fatty acids on cognitive function in both humans and rats by joining the Cheatham Lab as an intern.
Fran Bullard
Fran recently graduated from Barnard College with a degree in Biology. In addition to interning in the Cheatham lab this summer, she is applying to medical school where she hopes to begin next fall. She is excited to learn more about neuroscience outside of the classroom, particularly with respect to nutrition.
